After I registered my player, what happens next?
It is important that you take the time to read all the information posted on the tournament page, carefully.
Once the online registration closes, the tournament director will select your player for the tournament. You will receive a confirmation email once the player is selected.
After my player is selected, what is next?
You must complete the steps to submit the required medical release form using MatchTennis App. It is important that the mobile number of the person at the tournament is used for MatchTennis App. MatchTennis APP allows up to three different mobile numbers.
It may be necessary for the tournament desk to contact you during the tournament to inform you of changes with your players match time or provide weather updates.
· The player’s profile should also have the mobile phone numbers of the person(s) that will be present at the tournament.
· The player’s profile should include an email address that is accessed through your mobile device.
How do I know my players match times?
The draws and match schedules for most tournaments are posted the Thursday prior to the start date of the tournament. You can find the match times for your player by returning to the tournament website and clicking the draw tab.
The tournament director may have included when the draw / match schedule will be posted in the Notes section of the tournament webpage. USTA Georgia requires the draw to be posted 24 hours before the start of the tournament.
When to arrive and what do the player need at the tournament?
Players should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their match times. Once a player has arrived at the tennis center, they should use MatchTennis App to check-in for each match. When you check-in for the match, you are indicating ready to go on the tennis court and begin your match. Player should also bring water, sport drinks, a towel, sunscreen, bandages, and snacks to everyone tournament. Spectators are advised to bring a folding chair for seating options.
How to read the draw?
Once you have click the draw tab, select your players age group.
There will be two draws, main and consolation, click the main draw.
Look for the bracket with your players name in the 1st round, note your player’s line number.
In the middle of that bracket, there will be three letter abbreviation which will refer to the tennis center.
The date, the day this particular match is scheduled to be played.
The time, the time the match will begin.
How to read the draw after the first match is completed, if your player wins?
If you player won the first match he will remain, in the main draw. If your player is in the main draw, you player name will be placed in the bracket to the right, at most tournaments.
How to read the draw after the first match is completed, if your player does not win?
When reading the draw, it is helpful to know your player's line number from the first round in the main draw. You will use the line number if your player does not win the match and is placed in the consolation draw. If your player moves to the consolation draw, you will look for your players line number in the same round they were in the main draw.
· For example, if the player did not win the match in the quarterfinals. You would go to the quarterfinals round in the consolation draw and find the bracket that includes their line number. If the bracket has a bye, then you would move to the right of the draw to the next bracket.
The information in that bracket will provide you with the location, date, and time of the player’s next match.
What is the round robin?
A round robin is a draw for 5 players or less. Players in round robin draws will have a match scheduled with each player in the draw. This is a non-elimination draw format. Player should note all match times listed on the grid schedule since they are not listed in order.
